“ANAYET” was created throughout 2007 as a result of the thinking of its founders. They integrated in this project their knowledge and career expertise, their vital goals, and the illusion and hope that they count on the appropriate basis to develop a fruitful project based on their values.

The degree of growth of Music Therapy in Spain is limited to the offering of training opportunities and to the starting up of some projects in private and public music schools, day center, hospitals, and especial education centers. In such settings we know from personal experience and that of our colleagues that it is highly accepted and required. However, they lack the desired continuity and rigor to allow improvements in therapeutic outcome.

In other countries of the European Union, (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, France, Holland, etc.) or the USA music therapy is completely integrated within the public health system and, likewise, is completely recognized and valued in the medical-scientific field.

The lack of continuous support from public and private institutions in our country has interfered in the development, research, and spread of music therapy.

In this context, we consider that there still prevails an important delay in this field. It is for that reason that we want to promote and advertise the benefits of music therapy through the creation of the first Music Therapy Center where we can promote research, sharing of knowledge and professional perseverance.

Thus, we are optimistic and we trust that, thanks to the current and future contributions, Music Therapy will gradually work its way through in Spain as an optimum option.
