Similar to individual music therapy, the line of action for this therapeutic format is based on an initial study in which goals are defined as well as the procedures to achieve them through the use of music therapy.

A music therapist and people soliciting services participate in this music therapy group format. The therapist may count on a co-therapist if necessary and in the benefit of the goals to be achieved.

Groups are flexible and, as long as the conjuncture and evolution of members allow for it, there may still be more members to be introduced even though they did not start from the beginning.
